Winners Awarded in the Contest «How Cossacks...»

Date: 27.02.2018

On 27 February, representatives of United World Cultures Foundation, jointly with the Ukrainian artist Andrey Kulagin and public person Olena Tsarenko, summarized results of the all-Ukrainian children’s drawing contest How Cossacks... and awarded the winners at the Ivan Kavaleridze Museum and Studio.

In total, 55 works have participated in the contest, sent by children from the city of Kyiv, Donetsk Region, Dnipropetrovsk Region, and Zhytomyr Region. We have also received drawings from students of Kramatorsk Arts School No. 3, the Kyiv City Rehabilitation Centre for Disabled Children, Lotos Med Centre, as well as students of Kyiv schools. The highlight of the contest was an embroidered work made by a boarder of Nova Borova Children’s Residential Care Home.

The most difficult thing was to decide on the winners as all the children’s works were so full of kindness, inspiration and creative ideas, and storylines of the drawings were so diverse. This uneasy task was solved by Andrey Kulagin whose professionalism and artistic approach helped to pick out the best works: 1st place – Trip for a Dream by Yevgeniya Kovalyova, 12 years old; 2nd place – Cossacks on Holiday by Andriy Guk, 12 years old; 3rd place – How Cossacks... by Mariya Chekhonadska, 10 years old.

Additionally, the judges recognized several participants with special prizes for mastery. All participants were given honorary diplomas and valuable gifts!

We would like to thank all the kids who have sent us their drawings. Keep developing your talent and follow your dreams!
