The Martial Arts Festival for Children was held with the support of UWCF

On December 2 the Ukrainian Junior Tournament “Martial Arts Festival in Kyiv” was held in Kyiv at the Center of Culture and Arts of NAU. The aim of the festival is to popularize the martial arts among children, to engage them in sports and healthy lifestyles, to develop a patriotic education of youth, spiritual and physical characteristics, to prepare them for service in the Ukrainian army.

Sports competitions are traditional in Ukraine and are held by the International Federation of elite fighting (IFEF) within the framework of the program of national-patriotic education of youth, with the support of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Department of Youth and Sports of the KSCA.

The festival is also supported by the NGO "World Armenian Diaspora."

This year, it was really hard to organize the festival because of lack of funding. However, the Charitable Foundation "United World Cultures Foundation” (UWCF) supported the initiative of the organization of the festival and helped with buying the prizes, awards and belts for young athletes.

Olesia Tarasenko, an executive director of the Foundation "United World Cultures Foundations", who was present at the event, said: "Today children and youth are not able to physically develop because of lack of funds for sports. The aim of our Charitable Foundation is the active promotion of healthy lifestyles and the support of different kinds of activities aimed to revive the Ukrainian sport. The Charitable Foundation UWCF intends to continuously support such events. The International Federation of the elite fighting has agreed to participate in the charitable program of the Fund "Take the child from the street", where children who want to play sports, but their parents do not have the financial ability to pay for classes, will be able to train for free. "

The sport festival was attended by around 100 athletes between the ages of 8 and 16 years from different regions of Ukraine. They are the representatives of different martial arts styles: boxing, kickboxing, Thai boxing, elite fight, free fight, unarmed combat, Krav Maga, MMA, and others.
