Summer is a wonderful time for rest, offering too many ways of exciting pastime. It is also the best season for hiking and sightseeing. Holidays or vacation can be spent visiting new places.
River boat rides, sponsored by UWCF, are very much enjoyed by teenagers and youth with special needs from “Hornyatko Dobroty (“Kindness Jar”)” Centre of “Rodyna” Public Organization of Disabled People, as well as by kids from “Rodyna” Social Rehabilitation Centre. Such a ride gives them an opportunity to see the cityscape from an entirely new perspective. Fresh air charges with positive energy, and a boat ride becomes an unforgettable adventure.
Boys and girls have had a chance to see and admire beautiful views of Kyiv, including the Motherland Monument, the Vydubytsky Monastery, as well as the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra from the Dnieper River side, the place of the Baptism of Rus and the Monument of Magdeburg Law, as well as the Rare Bird Monument (made to the bird that succeeded in flying to the middle of the Dnieper River). The children have taken in the views of green hills and wonderful panoramas. And, of course, nobody forgot to make a wish while swimming under the Kyiv bridges.
The teenagers and youth with special needs from “Hornyatko Dobroty (“Kindness Jar”)”Centre of “Rodyna” Public Organization of Disabled People, as well as kids from “Rodyna” Social Rehabilitation Centre, are simply get mesmerized and hypnotized by the endless Dnieper River. The blue sky seems to merge with waves on the horizon. It is hardly possible to take in with one’s eyes the whole vast area of the Dnieper River, which beauty you can never get used to. Watching the Dnieper River, you get a feeling of its strength and power.
We at the UWCF’s program “Let’s Improve Children’s Lives” do our very best to help kids enjoy sunny days and gentle Dnieper waves and improve their health, instead of being cooped up within four walls!
United World Cultures Foundation expresses sincere gratitude to NGO “Ridni Nyvky” and to our guide, Ms. Viktoriya, for this exciting boat ride down the Dnieper River.
