On 29 September 2016, United World Cultures Foundation visited Centre of Paediatric Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery under the Ministry of Health of Ukraine (MOH) to greet doctors and little patients on World Heart Day.
Charity foundation UWCF handed over to Volodymyr Zhovnir, Head Doctor of Applied Research Medical Centre of Paediatric Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery under the MOH of Ukraine, a voucher for UAH 30,000 towards the purchase of an X-ray tube for the biplane angiograph, for the centre’s Roentgen-Endovascular Surgery Department. The Social Service Department of Applied Research Medical Centre also received some painting sets (kids’ paints, gouache paints, brushes, albums), as well as modelling clay, Rubik’s Cubes, and note-pads designated for kids with heart defects being treated by the centre.
For those children who had come for appointments and those staying at the centre for treatment, UWCF organized a fun-filled celebration with animators. Favourite cartoon characters, the Fixies, were entertaining kids, organizing games and contests, and giving out gifts. At the event’s close, children and their parents wrote their dreams and hopes on the Wish Heart.
We are happy to have distracted kids, at least for a while, from their everyday medical checkups, treatment procedures, and to have given them some joys of childhood.
