Taras Shevchenko: Literature for Every Age

Date: March 9, 2020

The first spring days give an opportunity for fans of the literary heritage of the Great Kobzar to reread and reconsider his poetic and prose works every time from a different angle, to better understand the past, the present and your place in it. In each school, pupils will take part in a series of events dedicated to the birthday of Taras Shevchenko. Every time it is a test of pupils’ creativity and learning interest.

The preparation and holding of unusual school events will be memorable for a long time, because it is hard to imagine today that pupils will quietly sit and listen to narrative of a mentor, even the wisest one. Through perception and interpretation of knowledge, pupils strive for independence and – what is the most important – creativity!

Many writings can be found about Shevchenko, however, there are some interesting episodes from his life we still know very little about. As for students of Lutsk Lyceum No. 3 of the Lutsk City Council of Volyn Region, Liuboml Comprehensive Primary and Secondary School No. 1 (district gymnasium named after Nataliia Uzhvii) and Comprehensive Primary and Secondary Hub School “Svitiaz Lyceum” of the Shatsk District Council, they have already been busy learning lots of interesting facts. Such opportunity arose after the UWCF’s campaign “Cartload of Books” visited them and handed over the publication of the Image.ua business magazine. The third issue of the publication was fully dedicated to the life story and writing of Taras Shevchenko.

The team of Charity Fund UWCF hopes that the new generation, which feels more like citizens of the world, will get a lot of impressions and discover a lot of interesting information, make a virtual trip and understand, for example, what interminable fields Shevchenko wrote about, and why did all this mean a lot to him.
