Continuing implementation of "Children of Avdiyivka" program the United World Cultures Foundation took part in "Let’s Improve Avdyiyvka Together!" contest from LLC "AVDIIVKA COKE PLANT" METINVEST.
This competition for the best projects on the arrangement of adjoining areas and interior spaces, the development of street art (murals, graffiti) is carried out on the initiative of the Director General of the AVDIIVKA COKE PLANT Musa Magomedov in partnership with the local military-civilian administration.
The United World Cultures Foundation selected one of the proposed themes of the contest, the writing of the mural, calling the project "SchoolBrightArt Avdiyivka".
The fund cares for children, so it is no coincidence that the walls of the school were selected for the purpose of drawing the mural. The essence of the project is to transform the facade of school № 7 into a unique art object of the city. The idea is not only to write the mural, but also to involve children and young people in active participation in the project.
Today, Street Art is one of the most accented areas of painting. Due to this direction the boundary between the gallery and humanity is erased. Murals give a positive mood, create a city style and its certainty, become symbols.
On April 3, 2019, the results of the competition were announced. The Foundation received a Certificate for 65 000 UAH for the project, which was presented by the Director General of AVDIIVKA COKE PLANT Musa Magomedov and the head of the military-civilian administration Pavlo Malyhin to the children of school № 7 and the director of the school Silina Lyudmyla. The Foundation thanks the organizers of the contest for trust and positive evaluation of the project!
Work on the mural has already begun. Street art artist Andriy Palval and the firm Kailas-V will decorate Avdyiyvka, making its center brighter.
The theme of the mural: "Flowers of Ukraine".
Flowers, it's always relevant and symbolic. Flowers it is a language of love, beauty and harmony. The symbol of flowers depicted on mural is harmoniously combined with the mentality of the city of Avdiyivka: Sunflower - a symbol of the sun, peace, happiness and good; Poppy is a symbol of love; Chamomile - pure heart; Wheat - abundance, fertility and generosity; Bees - labor; Mallow is the flowers of wives and brides who are waiting for the return of husbands from military campaigns.
In addition to the application of the mural, within the framework of the project, there are already planned cultural events and contests for schoolchildren, including the historical and artistic research "Development of the World Street Art", the "Children of the World" photo exhibition, which was presented at the Mystetskyi Arsenal in Kyiv, as well as the fine art contest art for students of 1-11classes, a round table discussion about Street Art. As a result of the project, children will be able to try themselves as artists of the city, to make it bright, colorful and creative.
Creating an individual style of the city, improving knowledge and increasing interest in artistic art among children, transforming the thinking of citizens - the result of the project "School Bright Art Avdiyivka".
