Healthy sight – a clear view of the world: results of the project

Walking to the Health Land program of United World Cultures Foundation / UWCF (Ukraine) in cooperation with “Children of the Desert” Program of the International Charitable Foundation "Volonteers Association "Kryla" (Egypt) from May 5, 2021 till May 10, 2021 implemented the pilot International Charitable Project "Healthy Sight – a clear view of the world" for children And adults" in the city of Dahab and in the settlements of Mousa Bedouins, Egypt. All interested could check their sight acuity, get free glasses, check intraocular and arterial pressure.

The International Charitable Project was aimed at raising public awareness of ways of preserving sight and eyes care and creating a culture of caring attitude to their health.

Our activity was focused on providing free glasses for vulnerable population groups, preventive and informational measures.

The residents of the city of Dahab were the first to take advantage of the services of the International Charitable Project "Healthy Sight – a clear view of the world" for children and adults" and had an opportunity to get free glasses. In the city of Dahab, around 220 children and adults checked their sight acuity for free. The next in turn were people from the category of poor, large and socially vulnerable families in settlements – there were 45 of them. After sight examination 185 project participants in the city of Dahab and 37 residents of the desert, one of the settlements of Saint-Katrina, Mousa Bedouins received free glasses.

For the first time in a very long time Mousa Bedouins from Saint-Catherine settlements did not have to make a difficult way to Cairo to get specialized medical care.

All examinations for patients are free of charge. The residents of the visited settlement highly esteemed the work of the International Charitable Project "Healthy Sight – a clear view of the world" for children and adults and the idea of mobile sight acuity checks. Also people were especially grateful for free glasses.

During the project, the organizers conducted a survey on existing obstacles for local residents to check their sight.
