On 25 December 2016, United World Cultures Foundation facilitated visiting of the XII Months Zoo by children from IDP families who are now temporarily accommodated at the Dzherelo holiday centre (address: Kurortna Street, 4, Pushcha-Vodytsia, Kyiv, Kyiv Region).
This year’s program for kids was really eventful and varied. In addition to the opportunity to walk throughout the zoo’s grounds with the area of 16 ha, young visitors were able to see amazing animals such as giraffes, lions, a lama, lynxes, diverse birds.
All kids could take photos with the animals they liked most.
On the top of that trip for kids was the fun-filled circus performance. Children with great interest watched the show unfolding on the arena. They were saluting artists with loud cheers and naively sharing impressions with each other and the accompanying adults.
“A child’s smile is worth a lot, especially when it comes from a child who has survived through the horrors of war,” says Liudmyla Lysenko. “We will further use every opportunity to bring kids to various events, because for them every such trip is a grand occasion that gives, alongside new impressions, also rehabilitation, knowledge, and life’s experience”.
Despite the winter frosts, children were happy to meet the nature and the animal world. A lot of positive emotions, joy, and good cheer have dwelled in the hearts of our young fellow countrymen.
