Red Cross in Ukraine was created on April 18, 1918 during the First World War at the initiative of the Mariinsky community of Sisters of the Red Cross, which provided charitable medical assistance to citizens. Today it’s a non-profit all-Ukrainian voluntary public humanitarian organization, whose activities are based on the Geneva Conventions on the Protection of War Victims of August 12, 1949, ratified by Ukraine in 1954, as well as the Additional Protocols to them.
On April 18, 2018, it was 100 years since the foundation of the Red Cross Society of Ukraine, and on May 8 - 155 years of the International Red Cross movement.
The Fundamental Principles of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, consistent with the principles of the United World Cultures Foundation, are the provision of assistance to all needy without discrimination on the grounds of national, racial, sexual, religious, linguistic, class or political convictions.
The close cooperation between the two organizations is aimed at preserving and strengthening the health of the population, paying special attention to children with reduced health and large families. So, on May 26 this year, a meeting was held between the Head of the Shevchenko District Organization of the Red Cross Ponomaryova Natalia Fedorivna, the Head of the UWCF Charitable Foundation Kobets Olena and the Head of the Program "Walking to the Health Land" of the United World Cultures Foundation Lysenko Lyudmila. Through the dialogue between, as a result was adoption of relevant decisions, in particular, on the implementation of the Plan of Measures of the Program "Walking to the Health Land" of the United World Cultures Foundation and several charitable programs of the Shevchenko District Organization of the Red Cross.
To help and protect people from elevated cholesterol, the charity project "Our Health is in our Hands" of the program "Walking to the Health Land" of the Charity Foundation "United World Cultures" handed over to the Shevchenkivsky regional organization of the Red Cross Society of Ukraine medicine Lovastatin "Arterium Corporation" in the amount of 172,800 UAH, which will be able to get patients among the vulnerable groups of the population of the Shevchenkivsky district. Every person living in a capital is at risk zone. Blood vessels are real "ways of life" that are responsible for the nutrition of each cell in the human body. Therefore, if they are damaged, all organs suffer. This should always be remembered, and treatment should begin before the development of complications.
Together, the two organizations encourage people to take care of their health.
