Diabetes is one of the most common non-communicable diseases in the world. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), it affects about 3% of the world's population.
There are one and a half million people with diabetes In Ukraine. According to WHO forecasts, by the year 2040 there will be more than 600 million of them, and that’s not counting those who are not even aware of diabetes.
A healthy and strong nation is a priority of the program “Walking to the Health Land” of the United World Cultures Foundation and the “Apostol” Ternopil Charitable Foundation, which continue to do good with the Good People to All-Ukrainian Social and Humanitarian Program in order to implement the project sustainable development in all regions of Ukraine and to create a healthy, wealthy nation, is one of the steps towards the European standard of living.
Taking into account difficult financial circumstances prevailing in people with insulin-dependent diabetes, with the aim of social and material support for such persons and their families in the form of providing targeted assistance and promptly addressing this issue, to implement the program of social protection and public health of Ukraine. For World Health Day, the UWCF Charitable Foundation donated the necessary medicines of the “Arterium” corporation (amount 4381895 UAH) for the treatment of patients with insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus of the Ternopil region.
The program “Walking to the Health Land” of the United World Cultures Foundation looks to the future with optimism and draws the attention of the world community to the specific problems of people with diabetes, especially children, adolescents, the elderly and pregnant women.
