The UWCF transferred office equipment to the Montessori Center

Date: April 8, 2017

In early April, the "United World Cultures Foundation" visited the Pugachivka orphanage (for girls who are ill with oligophrenia in the stage of imbecility, Down syndrome, children deprived of parental care, orphans) to transfer office equipment to the Montessori Child Development Center, which is extremely necessary for its functioning.

Montessori Child Development Center is a center that operates through the system of the Italian teacher Maria Montessori. The main principle of Montessori pedagogy is to encourage the child to self-education, self-development. To help the child develop logical and creative thinking, attention, fine motor skills, imagination.

The job of a Montessori teacher, an instructor, is not only a consultation, training and supervision of pupils. It also includes numerous reports, maintenance of documentation, scheduling of tasks for each training group, independent production of Montessori materials, and constant self-improvement of the instructor, telephone conversations, skype conferences, correspondence by e-mail. From now on, it will be easier for the Montessori instructor to perform paper work.

According to Montessori instructor Alla, the Center needs a lot, but there is no money even for little things. She receives a salary from volunteers of detdom.info for three years, because in the boarding school there is no such a position in the staff list. Volunteers also purchase handouts. Now there is a problem with the computer.

"There is nothing more valuable than the health and well-being of children, so we are happy to help the Center. The less time a volunteer-tutor spends on keeping records, the more attention can be paid to the girls of the Pugachivka orphanage. The Foundation implements a whole program called "Let's make children's lives better", and the goal of it is to improve the material and technical base of specialized boarding schools, " said curator Lyudmila Lysenko.

Director of the orphanage Lesya Petrenko and deputy director Maia Pivovar told that Montessori Child Development Center at the Pugachivka orphanage teaches practical life skills - an activity that is attractive to the child. Pupils learn to own their body, carry out a certain order of actions, leading the work to completion, develop fine motor skills; working with the appropriate materials, the child develops his senses: sight, hearing, smell, taste, chromatic, tactile, stereogenic feeling... First isolated, and then combining them in the process of working with more complex material. Now the leadership is discussing with philanthropists the possibility of opening a sensory room at the orphanage and the acquisition of appropriate equipment for it. Games in such a room will help special children overcome fears, aggression, learn to dream. Also, children will be able to receive psychological relief there.

Dear people, if you want to do good - join us! Good deeds always unite people, help them stay together at any time. We will be grateful for the contribution to our good deeds in the form of goods, services, financial and informational assistance for the Pugachivka orphanage.
