In the context of today’s COVID pandemic, Ukrainians are most concerned about the risk of their close ones being infected and about a protracted economic crisis that the country may potentially face, as shown by the sociological survey.
This pandemic has proved to be a real challenge to the civil society of all countries. In Ukraine, there are hundreds of communities, businesses, non-governmental and charitable organisations that have joined their efforts for the pandemic response.
The campaign “Let’s Unite against the Coronavirus 2019-nCoV (COVID-19) and Walk to the Health Land” under the UWCF program “Walking to the Health Land” has expanded its coverage and handed over AtopiControl Acute Care creams and lotions from the world’s leading producer Eucerin as targeted aid to families. The cream reduces inflammation, regenerates the skin’s barrier, significantly relieves itchiness and prevents the infection spread. We have also handed over heart medications and pharmaceuticals against diabetes mellitus, worth UAH 253,613.54, donated by pharmaceutical producer Arterium, to: Caritas-Spes-Berdiansk Religious Mission of Kharkiv and Zaporizhzhia Diocese of the Roman-Catholic Church in Ukraine, Dobrovita Charitable Foundation, Dnipro, Zhytomyr City Children’s NGO Vse Robymo Sami (“We Do It All by Ourselves”), Obukhiv City and District Organisation of the Ukrainian Red Cross Society, NGO Mykolaiv Regional Organisation of Youth Self-Government Leaders YOUTH ARE THE NATION'S FUTURE, International Charitable Organisation Kryla (“Wings”) Volunteer Association.
Only by pooling together our efforts and taking care of each other, we can overcome these challenging times amid the COVID-19 outbreak. Let’s keep on taking care and helping those who are now the most vulnerable!
