Grand Prix Kyiv 2018 – grace and beauty

IV Grand Prix Kyiv International Ballet Festival 2018 became a strong and fruitful tradition in Kyiv, an important part of the world's ballet life. Born in May 2015, he quickly gained a high professional level, a serious creative reputation, the status of a responsible and brilliant forum for young performers.

The Magic of the IV Grand Prix Kyiv International Ballet Festival 2018 attracts young dancers from all around the world, and a successful performance on the stage opens their way to the future.

Director of the festival- People's Artist of Ukraine, artistic director of the Kyiv State Choreographic School Nobuhiro Terada and the United World Cultures Foundation were founders of the ballet competition.

The panel of the contest judges includes world-renowned ballet performers, in particular: international ballet star Vladimir Malakhov as the chairman of judges; among the judges are: Michiko Terada, Director of Terada Ballet Art School, Kyoto, Japan; Igor Mamonov, Director of Ballet School Mainz, Germany; Aram Manukyan, Director of The School of Alberta Ballet, Canada; Siri Aarset Johansen, Artistic Director of Norwegian Ballet School (DNBS); Yaroslav Ivanenko, Artistic Director of State Theater Kiel, Germany; Toshihiko Takahashi, patron of the festival; Masahiko Yamamoto, Koransha President; People’s Artists of Ukraine Olena Filipieva, Sergiy Bondur, Tetiana Biletska, Volodymyr Denysenko and leading teachers of ballet schools Hanna Svitlichenko (Berlin, Germany), Sergiy Lakhtionov and Lyudmyla Soboleva (Kyiv, Ukraine).

This year, the Grand Prix Kyiv International Ballet Festival is participated by around 70 young performers from Germany, Italy, Spain, Norway, Turkey, Japan, South Korea, USA and Ukraine. The International Competition gathers young ballet dancers, gives them a chance to show themselves, to show their talent. For many dancers, the scene of the festival was the beginning of a great creative path to world recognition, as winners are invited to study at the most prestigious ballet schools in the world.

Grand Prix is the only classical dance contest of the international level where participation is absolutely free, and accommodation and meals are also paid by the organizers with the financial support of patrons and sponsors.

The competition includes a press center, creative meetings, seminars, workshops and exhibitions.

IV Grand Prix Kyiv International Ballet Festival 2018 is not only an arena of professional communication of creative youth, but also a serious platform for the exchange of experience between teachers and choreographers. This is an area for the rapprochement of different cultures!
