Finally, the largest intellectual event of Ukraine took place - the International Festival "Book Arsenal", where books, topical and innovative projects are implemented. More than 150 Ukrainian publishers presented their publications at the exhibition-fair. The program of the festival violates and reflects upon the important questions of human being, as well as society and culture, prompting the proactive position of the participants and visitors. This year's festival was attended by about 57 thousand guests, which once again proves: Ukrainians - a reading nation.
In the framework of the festival, on May 22nd and 26th, for the fourth time, a very special trip - excursions for children with disabilities with visits to adult, children's, and all possible programs and zones took place. The idea was initiated by the ukrainian writer Kateryna Babkina, and besides the invitations and free entry for accompaniment, the participants of the excursions received a special experience - hosts-peers, who guided three-hour excursions with an incredible book fair. In total, more than 50 children and adults with disabilities took part in the event.
Cooperating with the Mystetskyi Arsenal not the first year, the United World Cultural Foundation has supported the initiative and helped special children reach their destination.
The fund team cares for children with disabilities, so we know that often special babies are practically "locked in four walls" and have no way of knowing the world around them. We dream that every child in the world feels desirable, had the opportunity to develop in a comprehensive way, and believe that it is possible!
