Teacher's Day and World Ballet Day in KSВS

Date: 05.10.2018

On the first Sunday in October, Ukraine celebrates the professional holiday of all educators.

For the first time, the Teacher's day was celebrated in 1947 in a small school in the city of Saint-Paul, in Brazil. However, it was an informal holiday. But only in 1963 people began to celebrate the Teacher’s Day on a state level.

In the USA this holiday has very interesting story. It all began with the fact that one teacher wrote a letter to the president, asking him to pay attention to the teachers. In some way her letter got Eleanor Roosevelt and after long battles in 1953 in the United States began to celebrate the Teacher's day.

Chinese teachers celebrate their professional holiday on November 8th. It is one of three existing public holidays and is very important for the inhabitants of the state, because the teacher’s profession is very honorable in China.

On October 5, 1994, UNESCO approved an international holiday, the Teacher's Day. In particular, in the same year, by the Decree of the President of Ukraine "About Day of the Worker of Education", this holiday is also established in Ukraine.

On October 5, on the eve of the Teacher’s Day, a concert of students of the fifth grade of the Kyiv State Ballet School took place. The children displayed numbers from well-known performances, which they mastered only for a month. This once again proves the successful combination of children's talent and the professional approach of the teachers of the KSВS. Confidently and persistently they become a part of the ballet world. At the main stage of the school, the audience saw excerpts from Swan Lake, Carmen, Ukrainian folk dances, etc.

United World Cultures Foundation also congratulated the teaching staff of the KSВS with a professional holiday, and fifth graders with the first academic year in the school and the World Ballet Day, which is celebrated every year on October 1st! As a gift, the children received ballet shoes, which always will be useful for them!

We wish teachers a professional inspiration, patience, and to children - do not lose the thirst for knowledge and every day confidently approach to your dreams!
