In early May, United World Cultures Foundation initiated a campaign of lilac seedlings landing in the framework of family inclusive festival "Just Like Me" in the Pugachiv Residential Care Home (Zhytomyr region, Berezneve). To planting had joined leaders of student government institutions Solomyanskiy district led by teachers of the Palace of children and youth creativity of Kyiv, detdom.info volunteers, staff and pupils of orphanage.
As Lyudmila Lysenko – coordinator of this action noted: campaign "Lilac Alley "Just Like Me" are made to demonstrate the capabilities of an inclusive society where people with disabilities are full participants in the training, educational or entertaining process in which there are no barriers to personal development, communication , reigns respect, tolerance and mutual understanding. The lilac was presented to us by the charming woman from Donbass Oksana Kolyada.
The girls of the orphanage had received a lot satisfaction from this action. While some of them were planting lilacs and enjoying the nature, others were taking selfies.
Director of the Pugachiv Residential Care Home Lesya Bronislavivna Petrenko came to share with the family, and decided to plant lilacs, which was brought from their own garden. "We decided to spend this day with the whole family. It was my dream - to plant a lilac alley", - Lesya Bronislavivna admitted.
According to Iryna Ivanivna, director of the Palace of children and youth creativity of Kyiv, such actions are important because they unite kids to love each other. Leaves of lilac emit iodine, and such plantings are very useful for children. Walking around the alley, the girls will inhale the magic aroma and feel much better. The student of her active Palace - Dasha, Tanya, Ira and Darina - are convinced that such action is useful!
And after planting and a delicious lunch, all the princesses and young gardeners were given a lot of delicious meal.
