International Children’s Drawing Contest “Get Well Soon, Earth” is more than just an online exhibition of artworks. This is more than just a way to find and support talented children. First and foremost, this is our common response to the challenges faced by the modern society. This is a chance to use the language of artistic creativity and the language of cheerful colours to deliver a strong message: children want to live in the world full of vibrant and bright colours, in good health, and on the colourful Earth!
The contest was initiated by Yelyzaveta Rudyka, a young Kyivan, a founder of the project ArtKidsEurope, and a person who herself and whose family take steps every day towards the healthy planet, and by the campaign “Let’s Unite against the Coronavirus 2019-nCoV (COVID-19) and Walk to the Health Land” of the UWCF program “Walking to the Health Land”, which continues to daily keep abreast of developments in the spread of the dangerous coronavirus in Ukraine.
We would like to thank all educational institutions, non-school educational facilities and communities, non-governmental organisations, active families, and everyone who facilitated children’s participation in the contest. We are happy to say that there were 443 children and nearly 449 submissions participating in the contest. Geography of the international contest’s participants stretched out far – from Kyiv to Sacramento. The superheroes sent their artworks from France, the USA, India, Turkey, and Ukraine.
The winner award ceremony of International Children’s Drawing Contest “Get Well Soon, Earth” took place on 12 June 2020 on the open-air summer terrace of Channel 33. Alongside the contest winners, we had also invited their parents and teachers. However, with all the lockdown restrictions still in place, those who could not attend the event were offered online access to watch the ceremony.
Winners were selected in three age categories, in online voting and special nominations from the jury members and the contest partners.
Artworks submitted for International Children’s Drawing Contest “Get Well Soon, Earth” were assessed by the professional jury composed of prominent personalities in culture and arts, public figures, and benefactors.
With so many talented kids, creative parents and inspiring teachers who cultivate love for arts in children, ArtKids Europe and the charitable program “Walking to the Health Land” of United World Cultures Foundation (UWCF) will often please the inhabitants of the planet Earth by organizing wonderful contests and turning them into recurring events.
