Many musicians around the globe are actively involved in charity and prove that musical activities may go far beyond entertainment and help save millions of lives. For example, War Child UK, a non-commercial organization founded in 1993, provides assistance to children in war-stricken areas. War Child extensively involves mass media, music and entertainment industries to raise funds and also public awareness of the daily struggle for survival facing children in war zones. In 1995, a major project The Help Album was implemented together with many famous artists. The album raised GBP 1,250,000. It featured Paul McCartney, Steve White with The Who, Suede, Kate Moss and Johnny Depp, Radiohead, Portishead, Oasis, Blur, The Chemical Brothers, Massive Attack, The Stone Roses, and others.
