On May 5, 2018, the leaders of the student self-government educational institutions of the Solomyansky district, headed by the teachers of the Palace of Children and Youth Creativity of the Solomyansky district from Volunteers detdom.info and the Charitable Foundation "United World Cultures" traveled to the pupils of the Puhachiv Residential Care Home (Zhytomyr region, Korosten district, Berezneve).
In this psychoneurological orphanage there are orphans, deprived of parental care, who have intellectual and physical defects, oligophrenia and Down's disease.
The meeting began at 15 Kurska Street, "Palace of Schoolchildren", the hearts were filled with love and a desire to give children joy. Some of the leaders of the pupils' self-government came here for the second time, and though the time passed since the last trip, the children remembered happy time (uwcfoundation.com/en/novosti-proektov/deti-detyam).
"On such trips children are taught to communicate and to establish relationships. It's easier for children with special needs to "grow", they have to develop and from whom to draw the right behavioral models", - said Lyudmila Lysenko, head of projects of the UWCF Charity Fund.
As always, we were met by the director and head of the Puhachiv Residential Care Home - initially closed all the documentary issues: registration of relevant documents, discussion of plans for the future, preparation of documents for another guided tour of the girls. Then clean the bananas for the pupils. Curator detdom.info Oksana Zolotukhina conducted an excursion on the territory of the orphanage for new volunteers and for new leaders of student self-government educational institutions.
Then a sweet little presents for pupils, games and coloring, told the children how to properly take care of their body and the rules of personal hygiene.
"It’s my first time in such orphanage, I went to chat with girls, share love and joy. Present gifts to new friends, but they gave me a lot more - sincere embraces, smiles, simplicity of communication and open hearts", - Anastasia, leader of student's self-government.
Pupils of Puhachiv Residential Care Home sincerely rejoiced with toys and puzzles from the agency Dentsu Aegis Network Ukraine. Puzzles are great toy that improves motor skills. Children have to develop strength in their fingertips to grab and hold separate parts of the puzzle, improve the coordination of vision and movements, as they teach the kids to maneuver the individual fragments of pictures and insert them into the places provided for them, which prompts children to consistently solve problems.
"We thank everybody who joined the organization of this trip - money donation, speeches, own resources, and sometimes. Particularly grateful to the teachers of the Palace of Children and Youth Creativity in the Solomyansky district of Kyiv", - noted Oksana Zolotukhina.
Such trips make you rethink your own values and life goals, look at the other side of life.
Let's remind the words of the Minister of Education and Science Lilia Grynevich: "Orphanages for children with special needs will not be canceled until the inclusion becomes qualitative and accessible. We need to provide a certain level for the education of these children, and parents have the right to see if the necessary conditions for their child are created".
