Institute of Pediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynecology named after Academician O.M. Lukiianova under the NAMS of Ukraine fights for the health of a baby from the moment of his conception, not from the moment of his birth. Therefore, the IPOG provides medical assistance to pregnant women with serious diseases who cannot receive help at their place of residence, for example in Lviv, Zaporizhzhia, Khmelnytsk, Donetsk, Ternopil and other regions of Ukraine. The institute acts as the last resort where expectant mothers and sick children are admitted in hope of recovery.
The importance of IPOG for Ukrainian mothers and babies can hardly be overestimated. This is truly a unique medical institution: almost 5000 children receive treatment at the Institute’s inpatient facility per year. Moreover, there are also IPOG’s day hospitals and a powerful consultative and diagnostic centre able to provide 250 consultations per day.
On the eve of Children’s Day, the team of the project “Health Protection of Mother and Child. Institute of Pediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynecology (IPOG) under the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine”, as part of the UWCF’s program “Walking to the Health Land”, handed over 100 masks donated by leather and fur studio KLI&Ko, with the assistance of Olesia Tarasenko, founder of the first blog-magazine of Ukraine “LuckyUkraine”, as well as AtopiControl cream donated by Eucerin manager Galina Shapovalova.
